Ivan Bayard

Ivan Bayard was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ivan was taught to paint and sculpt at Lusher High School, now The Willow School. From the fabulous fundamentals in art that he learned in high school, he was awarded a scholarship to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Ivan moved to Boston in 2014 where he worked for a design fabrication company and continued painting mostly portraits through long Boston winters. Ivan moved back home in 2019 and fell in love with the dramatic New Orleans landscape. Often setting up outside, en plein air, Ivan Bayard attempts to capture our changing environment in the moment of immediacy as the sun sets, storms roll in, and bugs bite.
